real life ranger history
Most people think that the Rangers were first started in world war II.The first Rangers were in the revolutionary war.The group was called “Roger’s Rangers” and definitly changed the outcome of the war.There was Rangers even in the civil war but were never well known.Rangers were never officially known as a fighting force by the military until world war II.The Rangers were formed because the officers needed a way to know what is going on in certain areas of the battlefield.They were trained to be elite because officers noticed how well British commandos were fighting with an elite training.The Rangers had to attack two places on the Normandy beaches.One mission was a secret landing to take out French 155 mm. guns at Pointe Du Hoc.The other landing site was at Dog Green Sector of Omaha beach.Rangers are able to use any gun that comes to their likings for a mission.Rangers have to know hand to hand combat skills before leaving training.That is a little history for you about the Rangers.

actully it wasnt “Marion’s brigade” it was “Rodgers Rangers” and they copied the Gorilla tactics that the Native Americans used and that suprised the British and they most likly would panic and run (because back then you saw the enimie stright on, with the rangers you didnt see your enimie and they shot from you at all sides) Not being a smart @$$ just correcting your errs.
p.s i know alot from shows my uncle and my cousin wrote a 40 page documentry about it so yeah… LONG lol
Never trust the special forces books because they tell you horrible info(I just learned that the hard way).I saw the rangers episode on the military channel and you are right but never trust the books.

oh, in Call of Duty 2, in the american campaign, you are a ranger, and theres a mission in D-Day: Pointe du hoc and you have to take out some 155MM guns, it was the best mission of the game!
I know, that is one of my favorite missions too
